Today is a Seriously? type of day. I’m mad at the world because I’m mad at one person so no one else has a chance for puppies and rainbows. My dear hubby sometimes just pisses me off and well it’s down hill from there. My kids are cautiously doing a WTF? And are anticipating this witch’s next move. I’m spontaneous and that’s not always a good thing. So on top of being the pissy wicth today I took the van to town and it smells like something is burning. Mind you this is the van we just bought new to us and dropped another 3k in. It has caught fire 3x I’m thinking the 4th time I may not be so lucky. Maybe I’m hormonal from all the meds they’ve pumped me with in the last few weeks. I still don’t feel myself. I’m tired and cold all the time which isn’t like me. I’m thinking of moving into the kids playhouse in the back yard and running myself an electrical cord. My daughter who being of right mind is graciously making dinner and I could kiss her for it. I may have to take another walk on the beach. [...]

Good Morning! We had a weekend that seemed to go on forever. Friday it was in the 60s. Saturday in the upper 80s and yesterday it was 90. Unreal. Winter isn’t supposed to like hot weather but since I’ve been sick I can’t seem to get warm. Friday morning the boys went to their grandmother’s house and mowed her lawn and pulled weeds. They were exhausted when they got home. Then the quickly showered and got ready to go to help work at the local Kiwanis fundraising dinner. They had breakfast for dinner and it was fantastic. It was nice to get out and do a little socializing. Sunday morning Ian worked along with some very dedicated moms making pasties for the Boy Scouts camp funraiser. They did really well and it was an all day project. They made the dough, mixed the meat and the vegetables and baked them in 90 degree weather. That’s dedication! For dinner tonight I’m making Tami’s Crockpot Southwestern Dish. I cannot wait to try this. If you haven’t done so I encourage you to check out her menus and recipes complete with a grocery list. We have some great things up and coming. We [...]

Good Friday Morning everyone. I’m so thankful it’s Firday. I’ve been exhausted all week and look forward to watching a few movies curled up with the kiddos this weekend. It’s looking dreary here and like maybe its going to rain. I don’t know about you but my kids are wrapping up the end of the year. They won’t get out of school until the first week of June. Kids are already swimming in the bay already and it makes me shiver. We haven’t had any warm weather to warm up the water. Our school like everyone elses has shortfall this year. 1.5 million to be exact, and they’ve let go some teachers I consider the best of the best and kept a few that have no business EVER being a teacher. The one teacher’s husband is in Afghanistan and I believe 3 small children. One not even a year old. My daughter had a hard time in the classes she taught and her devotion to making sure she knew what she needed to and that she passed the class was true devotion. People are whining over the part time golf coach? I think the before academics is slashed the football, [...]

I have shared Exuviance and NeoStrata skin care products with you before. I have never been disappointed with any of their review products and this includes the NEW Exuviance OptiLight Tone Corrector. I have clear skin where acne is concerned but I have such uneven skin coloring it sometimes looks bruised or scarred. I was given the NEW OptiLight Tone Corrector for review and after just over a week, I’m hooked. I see a difference and if I see a difference I know others do too. The active science and proven botanicals diminish the look of dark spots without harsh bleaching agents. NeoGlucosamine gently exfoliates to break up pigment clusters, while Retinol and Vitamin C help reduce the intensity of existing spots. Turmeric and Alpine Plants help prevent new spots from forming, and Optical diffusers create an instant brightness. Outdoor activities in the summer intensify my uneven tones and make me selfconscious. Exuviance, OptiLight Tone Corrector works on the dark spots and helps give me a little more more confidence.

There are many Summer songs but not a lot have stuck with me over the years. One of them is just a jingle. “Baseball, Hotdogs, Apple Pie and Chevrolet” It always reminds me of the 4th of July and picnics. Running in the water and taking a swim. There is nothing like laying in the hot sand with your now MP3 players going to your favorite songs. We used to have little radios we took and shared are loud music with those around us whether they wanted to hear it or not. So I guess my top 10 in no particular order would be: Summer of 69 – Bryan Adams (I wasn’t even born in ’69) Boys of Summer – Don Henley We Got the Beat – The Go Gos All Summer Long – Kid Rock (I could slip a couple more of his in here but only one to an artist) Old Time Rockin Roll – Bob Seger I Hate Myself For Loving You – Joan Jett Nights In White Satin – The Moody Blues Walk Like An Egyptian – The Bangles Maggie May – Rod Stewart Soak Up The Sun – Sheryl Crow That’s a good start.
Good Tuesday Morning! It’s dreary here and I’m hoping for rain. We need lots of it. We are all under red flag warnings here. About a month ago it rained almost non stop but the ground was frozen and it just sat there. Now it’s terribly dry. There was a major fire near Lake Michigan last night and the house was a total loss. Many times our firefighters get the water straight from the lake <-just a little random thought. I love living here but a mild winter and already struggling economy have people moving on. People I’ve known for years are moving to other states for jobs. The government is saying the economy is on the upswing but I beg to differ. I don’t even know who to vote for at this point. There is a sense of hopelessness here. There is no longer a middle class. My husband and I have talked about moving but we are near (next door actually) both sets of parents and all of our other siblings live far away. It’s not that they need to be baby sat but they do need help. I have lived here with a view of the [...]

I hope all of us moms had a very Happy Mother’s Day. I had a long weekend with hubby and I feel like I have been living for a week. On Wednesday he absolutely had to see the Avengers and was dragging me out of the house to see it. It was really good (another post). Friday night I begged to go see Dark Shadows. I really enjoyed this one too. I never go to the movies. 2 in a week left a homebody like me out of my element. Saturday we had the bridging for Cub Scouts. Last year there were probably less than 10 people. This year There was 50 or more. It’s nice to see such a great turn out. All of these boys are learing great skills that will help them later in life. Finally to Mother’s Day. Yesterday I was flooded with cards and a few gifts. I was shocked, floored really to receive a kiln. Not a small one either this is huge and 2 tiered. For those of you who don’t know I do ceramics for our church Christmas Raffle and whenever any other organization asks, but all of our ceramic stores have [...]

Ah, you guys probably didn’t miss me much ….. but I sure did miss all of you! On the night of April 25th I was frantically editing and printing my sons Senior Pictures, trying to get those invitations (the few we could afford) in the mail box and on their way. A bit after midnight I told my husband I was beat and shut down the laptop. Thinking I would simply get up the next morning and finish it all up. Oh, how wrong I was. My laptop cord suffered a sort of demise that would make any blogger cringe with fear. Having spent any “petty cash” we had on hand, I was … (bluntly put) screwed. There was no way I could afford a new cord. There’s a company we worked with that owes us around $500, so to say I was livid that said company had (and has not) paid for services. I had no choice but to use my iPad as my sole source to stay connected. I have found that my iPad is not the wonderful blogging tool I once thought it was. Don’t get me wrong, I do love the iPad, however it’s not my [...]

It’s already 1:22 pm and I’m sitting here being lazy. Rose and I both have had a stressful last couple of weeks. Rose, if you saw her Facebook page, graduated her son Austin. She’s so very proud and so she should be. Austin is a great kid and soon to be great adult. Her limited access has been because she abused her poor computer and the cord ended up in 3 pieces. She has a new cord and things should be smooth sailing with her very soon. In all honesty when I met her in St. Louis she was dragging her computer all over and thought that the poor thing needed to be a little less loved. I myself have been so busy running to doctor appointments. I didn’t really want to share this but I think I will, back to the my blog my rules kinda thing. I had been literally gushing blood for almost 2 weeks (tmi, yes I know). It was bad, beyond bad and I finally got up the courage (after being viciously prodded by Rose and my sister in law) to go to the doctor.
