Quinn has been driving me crazy for a scooter, so I’m thrilled to review the Original Rockboard Scooter with him. I have been waiting to post to get some great pics and video but this being Northern Michigan all of that changed the day after the scooter came. We ended up with snow and ice, but I assure you Quinn loves this scooter.
The Original Rockboard Scooter is for ages 8 and up and will hold up to 200lbs so while the kids are at school mom can get a bit of fun exercise too. Always wear a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads. Safety first!
Propulsion is achieved with each rock, wasting zero energy, and allowing the scooter to reach speeds of up to 10 mph. The patented Rockboard Scooter comes fully assembled and can be folded to a compact size for storage.
The Rockboard Scooter is designed to rock it, kick it, fold it, and grab it. This scooter takes a certain amount of balance. The platform pushes down when you have two feet on the board, and with the spring system underneath you will lift one foot and press the other down, alternating each foot. You not only steer with the handle bars but with tilting your body too.
You can also lock the spring area down and use this as a scooter you push with your foot, best of all is folding it down locking it and grabbing it. The handle bars come down for you to grab and walk. I love this. It’s easy to throw in the car or for him to take to his friends house.
A plus in my book is that it came assembled. This took Quinn a few minutes to get the hang of and I was cringing but he had no accidents. He did test drive it in the garage and I moved him to the barn once he got the hang of it because it goes quite a ways with one push.
I would like to mention they were named Outdoor Toy Of The Year 2012 at the Toy Fair.
