I know some of you follow my twitter, and others follow me on facebook. (if you add me on facebook let me know who you are or I’ll just ignore the request.) So you sometimes have a good idea of what’s going on around our house if you catch my tweets.
This last week, we lost a very dear friend. Bobby has been battling cancer since Nov. and he was laid to rest by his family this afternoon. Bobby is the kind of guy that everyone knew him, and you won’t hear anyone say they dislike him. A huge loss not only to his family but ours, and our community as well.
My husband considers him one of his best friends, and it was so hard seeing him in his final two days …. Just hard. Many tears and a lot of emotions as we were with his family when he passed.
He’s in a better place, cancer free. And as his daughter said, he’s strumming on a golden guitar. We’ll miss him greatly. I wanted to share with you all the poem from his Memorial Card.

God Saw You Getting Tired
God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be
so he put his arms around you
and whispered,
“Come to Me”With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away
and although we love you dearly
we could not make you stay.A Golden heart stopped beating
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
he only takes the bestAuthor Unknown
I toyed with the whether or not to even write up a post about this, but ya’ know it’s our little corner of the world, and writing is sometimes an exhaust.
So there! It’s out, I feel a little better. And yes, tears are rolling. I’ll shake it off, just give me a few minutes. There are more details to all of this, and maybe later when it’s all not so fresh I’ll write it up.

Usually by now my kids have started back to school, oh but not this year.
Nope.
They are building a new elementary building and it’s not finished yet, so none of the kids in this area have started back to school. Seriously, if you are in our area and you have say in when school goes back, hear this. IT’S TIME FOR THESE KIDS TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL!
Our days have gotten a teeny bit tolerable cooler, the nights have gotten much cooler and we aren’t running the air conditioning all night long! Love hearing the critters outside. But it also makes the water colder and puts an end to swimming, the dog days of summer. The kids are bored! Let them back in school!
As my daughter sits up (late) beside me, nagging that her brother should be at home tonight it echoes that the first day of school is not here.

My thoughts are with you – it’s hard to lose a good friend……..
So sorry. I’m ready for a whole new month and cooler weather.
Thank you for sharing that poem. It is beautiful. I am sorry for your loss. I know what it is like to love someone with cancer. It is not easy, it makes you feel helpless. Your love and support of your friend made all the difference. Take Care.
So very sorry for your loss
Hugs and sympathy -
Best wishes for your family and his in this time.
((Hugs))
I am so sorry for your loss~I hope the good memories help to ease some of your pain! (((HUGS)))
I can say I KNOW how it feels because at 26 I lost my BFF to tragic ilnness and it’s a feeling that never leaves you, hope you feel a little better soon. It’s never easy to lose someone you know or love.
My thoughts are with you. Find strength in your memories
My husband’s friend was short of breath just last Sunday & went to ER thinking it wasn’t much of anything. They sent him to his Dr, and they found cancer last Tuesday both in his lungs and in his liver. Today he went to the oncologist to see if anything could be done… tonight he is the ER with everything shutting down. In a little more than a week he went from vibrant (he is 56) to comatose. My husband is hurting as Randy has made it clear no visitors with exception of his wife.
The hardest part I imagine Rose is watching your husband grieve. Men are so different than women.
