Visiting our national parks is a rich and rewarding experience. The dedication of Yellowstone National Park was just the start in 1872. Our national parks need care and support to help maintain them. These parks have become underfunded and the huge amount of traffic they receive have been causing environmental problems like pollution and climate change.
Patricia Shultz, internationally know author of 1,000 Places To See Before You Die, is joining forces with Nature Valley to help support the funding and bring attention to our beautiful National Parks.

Here in Michigan We have National Memorials, National Parks, National Historical Park, National Scenic Trail, National Lakes Shore and quite frankly they are all names used for National Parks. I’m reading the list and and I’ve been to them all. At the time though I thought they were state parks (woe is me eh?).
I really want these beauties of nature pereserved for my kids and their families to visit at some time. I remember climbing and rolling down into the water at the Sleeping Bear Dunes. That is almost a full post on itself. Pictured Rocks is a Northern Michigan beauty unlike any other. The only place I have been able to compare it to is Niagra Falls but of course the Falls are much larger.
Shamefully I haven’t taken my kids to most of these but Nature Valley has reminded me that these amazing places are best visited with friends and family and make memories of a life time. We enjoy hiking, fishing, and cooking out as a family and these reserves are waiting for us.
This to me falls under a giveawaway and blogging for a cause. I love our area and Northern Michigan. I see the effects of high tourism and lack of money the parks are going through and it makes me sad that my grandchildren may one day want to visit and these parks will be gone.

Yellow Stone National Park would be the closest to me, and we should care that the parks are taken care of to preserve our nature and wildlife.

Looks like Acadia National Park is the closest to me. Actually I haven’t visited any national parks to date but they’re extremely important environments and should be protected for future generations.

Pearl Harbor National Park on Oahu. It is important to maintain the parks so our children can enjoy them, also.

The closest one to us is the Biscayne National Park, and we have never been, but I have been to Yosemite before. It is important to preserve them because so little of what I grew up with as a child is still around for my children to enjoy, but our national parks are an exception to that.
I don’t think there’s any national parks in Connecticut and the closest one I can think of is Acadia National Park in Maine. We just moved to the area from Washington where there was a ton of national parks. We would always visit Mt Rainier every year. I hope we’re able to preserve them so my kids can visit the same parks I’m able to visit today.

Hueco Tanks National park is in my city El Paso, Texas, We should care that this place is taken care of. They only allow 100 people a day in because this is where many different indian tribes lived there are many indian pictographs on the huge boulders. Hueco Tanks was the site of the last Indian battle in the county. Apaches, Kiowas, and earlier Indian groups camped here and left behind pictographs telling of their adventures. We went this spring our first time living here for 35 years and it was so peaceful. We could hear indians in the distant singing and drumming to thier ancestors. You just want to cry knowing what once was.

I live in MN so Yellowstone is closest to me. I went to Yellowstone when I was a kid and LOVED it! There are so many things to see that are incredible and beautiful. And so many experiences you can’t get anywhere else. We should definitely take care of it so I can share those awesome experiences with my kids, and lots of generations to come!

I honestly don’t know the closest national park to me….we usually only visit the forest preserves that are nearby.
Mount Rainier National Park is breath taking! We took a trip there a couple of years and it was great! All parks need to be cared for as it would be unfortunate if we didn’t have them any more.

We live on north Padre Island and have the padre island national seashore – you can find it on the national park service site
We need to take care of them not only to preserve their natural beauty but also to preserve the animals and plant life their – our ecosystem. We destroy so much – our nation’s history is built on blood and destruction its nice to know that know our country strives to nurture and protect species and natural places.

I could be doing laundry
Not sure if I’ve ever been to one, our location sucks. They need to be protected because they are vital to our history and our environment and help us teach the current and future generations about the beauty of nature and conservation.

g’morning sunshine
I don’t have a National Park near us but we have visited Yellowstone, and Yosemite. We visit our state park at least once a year at Letchworth State park. They need to protected because its natures untouched beauty.
I don’t have one near me, but I’d love to visit Yellowstone National Park. Besides being exactly as God intented, they are also great places for geocaches.
Herbert Hoover’s birthplace is the nearest to me, and I have never been to it. I have taken my kids to Mount Rushmore, and it was awesome! We have also gone to Key Biscayne Park this year, which is one of the parks that this program is working on rehabilitating. I think that it is important to take care of these places so that they can still be beautiful for our great grandchildren!

The closest to me is the Petrified Forest National Park and I have visited the Grand Canyon. Thanks.
Biscayne Nat’l Park is closest to our home.
The closest national park to me is Big Bend national park in Texas. I have not visited it since it is about 8 hours away but plan to one day. I have been to the Grand Canyon, but that was 8 years ago.
It is important for me to preserve our park system so that my 14 month old will be able to enjoy them when he gets older.

no. I never sleep
we have a park right down the street, great place to take a walk
