One Life One Legacy More Than a Tee Shirt Giveaway Ends 4/22/10

One Life One Legacy – It’s Not Just a Shirt is more than a t-shirt company. They are dedicated to building a culture where everyday heroes are celebrated. Where inspirational stories are shared with the hope of encouraging others. One Life One Legacy hope you will be inspired by their efforts and realize the power of your own legacy.
The Founder Scot Aubinoe combines his passion and creativity and started a line of tee shirts that honor every day heroes. Know as the Legacy Tees, each shirt is emblazoned with a personal slogan that captures the strength and spirit of real-life, every day heroes and asks, “What Will Your Legacy Be?”

One of the heroes is Scots daughter, Zoe, who was born with a congenital heart defect and by the age of four, had already endured four open heart surgeries and four heart cauterizations. Zoe’s slogan, “Live Passionately, Love Deeply and Believe in Miracles” symbolizes the endless courage, and strength that she exuded in her young life.
For every shirt sold one is donated to a child in need. One of my favorite sayings is featured at One Life One Legacy. “Carpe Diem” Seize the day. If you do not seize the day it will not seize you and
every day will become a dull drum. Seizing the day comes in many forms but reminds me of the One Life One Legacy story. Scot did not wait for someone else to do something he believed in he sold his thriving real estate company.

everyday a miracle mverno@roadrunner.com
4 years ago my best friend was told her then 4yo son had/has ALL leukemia. Not 6 months later, she was told her husband had lung cancer. Her world was turned upside down. Yet, through it all she smiled and continued be a wonderful person and friend. Her son is doing well, but the sad news is she lost her husband to cancer in Jan 10.
She is my best friend and my inspiration that when things aren’t going my way that I can persevere because if she can do it, I can too.
Tee shirt in large size would suit me fine
The Zoe Tee- I had a cousin that dies as a baby because of a heart defect

My hero would be my son. He had a stroke at birth. He has severe learning disabilities. Even though he is extremely smart, he goes through periods where he will completely forget how to do things. Last week it was how to tie his shoes. I then have to reteach him. He never gives up. The teachers were very cruel to him. To the point of making him suicidal. Luckily, the teachers advocate in our school district told the prinicipal they were in the wrong and could be held accountable for what they had done. Things finally got a little better. Then he started to get a pain in his leg. At first I dismissed because it was just a little bump. It was a tumor the size of an egg in his calf. The doctor said I was just seeing the tip of it. The first surgery the doctor couldn’t find all of it. The pain got worse. The tumor was back within 3 weeks. The doctor said he had heard about this, but never seen anything like it. The tumor acted like a hernia. It split his calf muscle. The second surgery the doctor tried to repair it, and said there is alot of unusual tissue there. He couldn’t find the tumor again. (We all saw it 2 days before the surgery on the ultrasound, so I know it’s there). Now the surgeon says he sees another mass starting and my son is in tremendous pain. I don’t know what is going to happen next. I have never heard my son compain once during this whole thing. He is my hero.

Great concept and great shirts – I love that they donate a shirt as well. Our youngest son was born with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia, a life-threatening birth defect from which about 50% of babies do not survive. Our son is a survivor and a wonder. My heart aches for all of those babies and families around the world that suffer from this devestating birth defect which most of us have never heard of until we personally know a baby born with it.
What an amazing project! Zoe’s story really touched me as well as others.
The MacKenzie Tee Live Laugh and Love would best describe me. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway
I absolutely love Max, whom I “met” on the site! His motto of Endure, Persevere, Thrive is an inspiration to all!

live passionately, love deeply… SO true.
1- submitted my hero story– here it is: My hero is my husband. He truly understands unconditional love and sacrifice. He practices them daily. My husband works hard to allow me to fulfill my dream of staying home with our child. Money is very tight, things are hard, and we go without a lot. My husband never gives up, never gets discouraged, never is negative. he is my hero because of the amazing love he exhibits daily and his determination in life.

Tucker’s story really got my attention – as the mom of 3 (and the youngest is almost 3) this story hit home.
I can’t get Zoe’s story out of my mind.
darren g’s story sounds like my husband’s story!
Zoe’s story was really moving to me. Thanks for the contest!
Michele C, OLOL Hero 2010-7, this story made me cry. A mother would do anything for her child
There are so many touching stories. Zoe’s the one I remember the most.
My favorite is Zoe’s story.
