Since my family’s decision to green our selves up, and to do what we can to reduce our carbon foot print, we’ve come across some great companies. Companies that are so creative that you sit back in awe. Bottled Up Designs , Recycled Glass Jewelry is one of those companies. Their recycled glass jewelry is handmade in Pennsylvania from antique glass and bottles, reclaimed from the natural wooded habitats and rural farmlands. Each piece comes with “The Story of the Glass” detailing what the glass was originally and the approximate age.

I’m accused of being too deep at times but honestly I think this is so neat and a thoughtful idea. Each piece is a unique way to “Preserve History, While Helping The Future”. This really hits home. My grandparents lived in rural Pennsylvania where there were abandoned mines and areas and we’d go investigating and find way cool treasures that were once trash.
Laura, the owner and artist of Bottled Up Designs most certainly has an eye for pretty glass with visions of what it could be in her head. Her website has a list of the types of jewelry she makes as well as the types of glass she has to make those pieces.
Laura, was kind enough to send me a ruby glass necklace that I love. Each time I wear it I’ve been thinking of my grandparents and my cousin, brother, and sisters investigating to find a treasure. Bottled Up Designs can give a heartfelt gift to your Valentine, that will be enjoyed many more years.

My favorite item is the Green Depression Glass Petite necklace. They are now officially a favorite site of mine! I collect vintage glass, so obviously I adore everything they make.
Bottled Up Designs is earth friendly because they are using glass that would otherwise be considered trash. I know in my area, you can visit any old homesite and find broken glass pieces and jars just laying around. I think it’s fantastic that they’ve found such a cool way to reuse things like that.

I like the Pink Willow Petite Necklace.
It is earth friendly because they pick and use the broken glass from forests in turn the animals don’t have to “deal” with it.

Honestly, glass is one of those things that scare me. paper is easy enough to recycle. But glass, it’s heavy and when broken is very sharp. So I think Bottled up is doing a good thing in recycling glass into works of art and beauty. Way to go!

The Blue Willow necklace is my favorite. When I was in the fourth grade our teacher had us read a book called, The Blue Willow and then we acted part of it out in class.
And yes, earth friendly because it’s recycled glass that is cleaned up from the woods and from farms.
The Ruby and Cobalt glass is great too.

I love the Cobalt Petite Necklace.
Bottled Up Jewelry is Earth friendly because they use discarded glass to make beautiful jewellery.
There are so many nice things there but I really like the Pink Depression Glass Square Pendant
Glass never goes away. Watching animals running through broken glass is sad. By cleaning up and reusing the broken bits in art work, she is making the planet a more beautiful place for everyone.
