I can’t express enough just how nice this journal and organizer is. I have to admit I wish someone would have gifted me one of these when my children were born. I used a regular ole’ notebook, and it never crossed my mind that I might look back later and grin at those notes.
Every new parent knows that falling in love with your baby is easy, and quick. However, not being organized or establishing a routine can be … dreaded. Even now, with my kids being 11, and 15 a break in routine is dreadful. And makes everyone cranky!
This journal organizer simply rocks.
Here’s what no one will tell you about your exhausting initiation into parenthood. It goes something like this:
Step 1: Have a baby, fall in love.
Step 2: Go three months without sleep; realize you have no idea what you’re doing.
Step 3: Buy this organizer, put baby on a routine and get your life back.
What makes this journal/organizer unique?
- Babies need a routine; but most experts push a “one-size-fits-all” approach. We know from experience that finding your own routine will work best.
- Encourages bonding and allows parents to discover the unique needs of their child. We believe in attachment parenting, so crying it out was not an option in our home. Children respond best to consistent, loving parenting practices.
- Creates a customized instruction manual that any caregiver can follow. Babies need to establish connections with other family members or caregivers; and parents need to take a break.

What time did I feed the baby? How long was that last nap? Did she wake up at 11 p.m. or 3 a.m, or both? It’s all right here in one easy-to-use organizer. Keep a log of baby’s activities, figure out your best routine, then use the simple worksheets to leave instructions for a sitter so you can take a break. The 3-ring binder is the same size and quality as popular desk-size planners, so you can also insert your own calendars and address books.

I absolutely LOVE organization and have a binder of my own that i use daily and take everywhere with me! My children are all too old for me to be able to use this…but I have a brand new nephew (6 wks old)and I would love to give this to my sister in law! I love how it is customizable to each child…since each baby is different. I also love that it looks exactly like my binder…except mine is black!

I never thought of using such records as instructions for caregivers. Great idea. I’m going to have to take a look at the sample routine on the site too since I’m about to give birth to my first child so I really have no idea what to do.
