General Mills Health & Wellness

When I was in school, I remember the teachers always preaching at us “Breakfast is important!, It’s Brain Food!” Ok, Ok! But not until I got older did I realize, just how important breakfast truly is. And it’s something we need to make sure is instilled into our own children. Around our home cereal is a staple. It’s used for breakfast, and often as dry snacks. You may be wondering what ages snack on cereal here, and it varies from age 4 up to 68! Even Mom being diabetic is able to snack on low/no sugar cereals.

General Mills Calories Per Serving

Cereals are rich in important vitamins and minerals, yet lower in calories than many other common breakfast options.

Cereal eaters consume less fat, less cholesterol and more fiber than non-cereal eaters.

Ready-to-eat cereals also deliver important vitamins, minerals and nutrients, such as vitamins A, B6, iron, niacin and zinc, and cereal is a top source of key nutrients in children’s diets.

Importantly, more frequent cereal eaters tend to have healthier body weights, and lower Body Mass Index measures (BMIs). It’s true of men. It’s true of women. It’s true of kids. And that includes people who eat presweetened cereals.

Today’s cereals are more nutritious than ever. Every General Mills Big G cereal contains at least 8 grams of whole grain per serving, and more than 20 General Mills cereals deliver 16 grams or more.

When you consider the benefits of cereal, you’ll see why ready-to-eat cereal is such a great breakfast choice.

I couldn’t agree more. Cereal is very important, and it’s a delicious, fast breakfast or snack. We go through tons of cereal in this house because the kids eat it like crazy, and so do Leland and I.
